18 September 2023: Smart’s sports charter division has been busy the last few weeks chartering flights to the qualifying stages of the UEFA Champions League (final to be played at Wembley Stadium on 1 June 2024), the UEFA Europa League (final to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 22nd May 2024) and the Europa Conference League (final to played at Agia Sophia Stadium in Athens on 29th May 2024).

As the leaders in global sports charters, we are always heavily involved in all major football tournaments and we confirmed 18 flights in the qualifying rounds this season, including arranging charters for smaller clubs with less budget. 

Following the draws for the group stages that took place on 31st August and 1st September, we have secured a number of team charters as well as supporter flights.  

Planning always needs to be meticulous. A UEFA requirement is that all teams must be at their destination at least 24 hours before a match. The team has to plan departure times very carefully. There is also no room for error when it comes to managing the amount and size of equipment. Teams always have a considerable amount of kit, equipment and even larger items such as massage tables for the physiotherapists. A detailed kit list is vital so an aircraft with the correct hold capacity is secured.
