In the second phase of our recent growth strategy, we are on the hunt for an ambitious Business Development Manager with a tenacity and drive to identify, nurture and secure new business opportunities across private jet & commercial jet charter.

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing our client portfolio through proactive outbound activity, relationship management and strategic networking. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and outreach, attending client meetings and industry events, maintaining accurate CRM records, researching market trends, collaborating with the Charter Brokers to deliver tailored solutions, managing the sales pipeline and providing regular performance reports to leadership.

This isn’t your typical “9-5” role, with out of hours work a nature of the business due to client requirements, requiring a dynamic individual who thrives on building relationships and achieving realistic sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities and relationships through outbound sales activity.
  • Attend industry events and networking functions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Produce bi-weekly / monthly sales reports and pipeline forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Charter Brokers to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Develop strategic partnerships.
  • Achieve monthly and annual Gross Profit targets.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 2-3 years B2B sales experience.
  • Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with the Charter Brokers, Marketing and senior leadership teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in Aviation, Luxury Travel, Logistic or related industries is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort with CRM systems, MS Office and digital communication platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, aviation management or equivalent practical experience.
  • Existing client network.
  • Knowledge of aircraft charter.

In the second phase of our recent growth strategy, Smart Aviation is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to support the company’s digital presence across multiple social media platforms.

The intern will support the marketing team by creating and scheduling social media content across platforms, engaging with online audiences and monitoring performance. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with social media campaigns, drafting posts and visuals that reflect the Smart Aviation brand, and helping to maintain a consistent tone and presence. The intern will also contribute to digital marketing initiatives, conduct basic market and competitor research and prepare simple performance reports to inform future content and strategy.

This role is ideal for a student, graduate or aspiring marketer looking to gain hands-on experience within the private aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social media content.
  • Design graphics using Canva or Adobe.
  • Assist with filming and editing short-form videos.
  • Schedule posts.
  • Monitor engagement.
  • Research industry trends.
  • Support marketing campaigns.
  • Attend aircraft visits and events to capture content.

Requirements

Location: Crawley, RH10

This role requires experience in either flight operations or ACMI contracts and is based at our London Gatwick offices on a permanent basis. Experience of working with airlines in the ACMI environment is essential.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Maintaining and growing our existing airline client base via cold calling, networking, referrals etc.
  • Building relationships with all airlines across the globe, gaining new contacts and adding to our contact database.
  • Maintaining and adding to our CRM database with prospective clients and updated current client details.
  • Pre-empting potential demand by constant monitoring of Aircraft Activity and being able to identify potential demand for ACMI requirements.
  • Responding immediately to ACMI requests, providing comprehensive solutions to our client’s requirements, and managing the whole process, from initial request through to contracting, and flight watching
  • Out of hours flight watching roster of all Smart Aviation’s Charter Operations, and pre-empting any potential issues, and coordinate appropriate action.

  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with airlines globally.
  • To be a team player but also the ability to work on your own and be proactive.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours.

Salary

An attractive salary package, subject to experience, with an uncapped commission structure and monthly on target earning (OTE).
