This month, we celebrate Charlotte Sobol’s 20th work anniversary!
Charlotte joined Smart Aviation in its infancy in 2006, just six months after the company was founded by Mark Hawkins, our Managing Director. As the very first employee, Charlotte built the foundations of Smart Aviation with Mark, establishing the company in a competitive air charter industry and setting it up for two decades of success.
A steady hand at the helm of the business from early on, Charlotte established procedures and worked on operations for Smart Aviation’s first charter programmes, including Six Nations rugby charters and Lourdes’ pilgrimage charters.
Today, Charlotte is Head of Administration & Sales and oversees all operations at our London Gatwick office. She is a hugely valued member of the team and an essential part of the company.
Outside of work, Charlotte is a fan of theatre and a competitive tennis player.
Mark Hawkins said “Smart Aviation would not be where it is today without Charlotte’s outstanding loyalty. She’s known to many as my right-hand person, keeping everything running smoothly and getting things done. Congratulations Charlotte, and thank you for putting up with me for 20 years!“

She is the ‘cog’ that keeps everything moving, from the sales process, invoicing, payments, office management and everything in between – Smart wouldn’t be where it is today without her invaluable twenty years service. Having had the privilege to work with Charlotte twice in my career, it is pleasure to call her a colleague and a friend – thank you for your 20 years, here is to twenty more!”
