12th July 2023: We’re no strangers to Stag Do charters. We regularly fly our clientele to some of the most desirable locations in the world to give the groom an epic send-off and de-stress him before the biggest day of his life. Last week, however, was a little different for the Smart Team as we were tasked with arranging charters for a stag do of massive proportions!

Our client – the Best Man – contacted us directly a few months ago to secure an aircraft large enough to accommodate 35 stags on a weekend trip from London to Dublin. The client was adamant that he wanted two things – exclusivity and the wow factor! The group were to spend 72 hours in Dublin and wanted a memorable adventure from start to finish. 

We chose the Embraer ERJ-145 for this trip, renowned for its efficiency covering short distances and known as the ‘runway legend’. Powered by two Rolls-Royce engines, the aircraft comfortably seats up to 50 passengers in an extremely quiet state-of-the-art cabin. We worked with the Best Man and created a playlist of the groom’s favourite songs that was played on a sound system throughout the flight. 

With a maximum payload of 5,786 KG (12,755lb) there was plenty of room for the guys’ suits and stag attire for the whole weekend. 

At Smart, we always take care of all the intricate details too and we arranged a selection of beverages and canapes to be waiting for the group on their arrival at the private London terminal, and champagne and beers on the plane. 

James Gregory, Head of VIP Charters, said: “There was a great deal of excitement at the private terminal last month when the group all arrived by the private coach transfer we arranged for them from a central location in London. We had everything set up for their arrival and the stag was very touched by the whole experience. They were a lot quieter when they arrived back Sunday evening, but all had a fantastic time on the Emerald Isle. The Best Man, who was a little anxious on the Friday, was really impressed with how smoothly everything went”.
