A Parent's Guide To Flying On A Jet With A Baby

Our Head of VIP Charter, James Gregory, along with his wife and baby, recently had the opportunity to experience flying on a private jet charter, travelling on a Challenger 350 for a short weekend in Geneva.

Departing from London Biggin Hill’s Jetex facility, James swapped roles from broker to client for the day, enjoying the cool luxury of the FBO with his family before their Sunday morning flight.

With seating for up to 8 passengers and the dedicated attention of a flight attendant, baby Gregory had plenty of space to safely explore the cabin during the flight with mum and dad nearby. The large luggage hold provided ample room for all the baby essentials needed on their trip, including a buggy and car seat.

James Gregory, said: “Massive thanks to the crew, FBO staff and VistaJet team for making us feel very special and like real VIPs. Switching roles like this is so important for us as brokers, to understand step-by-step what our clients experience. Travelling with a baby is never easy, but I can now give first-hand experience to give that added value that our clients look for.

Our only problem now is that we have a baby boy with very high expectations – hopefully the EasyJet flight home brought him back down to reality!

A big Happy Birthday to my wife Holly, hope it’s one to remember!”

The Bombardier Challenger 350 is one of the most sought-after jets in the super midsize category, boasting the widest cabin in its class. Highlights include state-of-the-art entertainment systems, an ultra-quiet, climate-controlled cabin providing best-in-class cabin altitude for reduced fatigue, spacious all leather seats, LED cabin lightning and a fully enclosed washroom with private toilet and vanity facilities.

The full galley means that all passengers can enjoy hot food, and bespoke catering can be provided to suit the smallest of tummies.

The Challenger 350 is typically configured to carry up to eight passengers, or three in sleeping configuration, and can fly for seven hours or 3,682 miles/3,200 nautical miles – equivalent to London-Dubai.

A huge thanks to our valued partners at VistaJet and the flight crew for the invaluable experience, which has emphasised why we recommend the Challenger 350 to our VIP clients – and other parents.
