Recent changes to the General Aviation Regulations (GAR) 2024 mean that for international general aviation flights the Persons On-Board Flight Information must be submitted no later than 2 hours prior to the expected time of departure.

What does this mean for my next private charter?

There are no changes to the information we ask for in advance of your flight.

We will always ask for scanned copies of passports for all passengers travelling on the aircraft. We will not accept passenger details via email to reduce the risk of incorrect information being submitted and your flight being delayed.

There is no requirement for you to submit any details yourself as the operator will submit the required information. They are required to do so no later than 2 hours prior to the expected time of departure. If there is a last-minute change of aircraft, due to a technical fault for example, this may cause a delay whilst information is resubmitted for the replacement aircraft.

How does this affect last minute private jet charters?

As the information must be submitted no later than 2 hours prior to the expected time of departure, we can’t accommodate requests for private jet charters departing in under 2 hours, even if you are already at an airport.  

Which flights do the 2024 regulations apply to?

The GAR 2024 regulations apply to all aircraft making international flights who are expecting to arrive in and depart from the UK, including within the Common Travel Area of Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Do the regulations apply to pets?

No, the General Aviation Regulations only refer to human passengers for Border Force inspection. Pets are subject to DEFRA regulations.
