In this new series ‘Smart: Tried and Tested’, we are going to take a look at key aircrafts that we charter and give feedback on our personal experience of flying onboard them. 

In August 2022, some of the Smart Team went on a team building social to Ibiza. James Gregory, Head of VIP Charters, was tasked with finding an eight-seater jet to depart from Biggin Hill. It ended up being a real life recovery situation as the original jet that was booked went tech. However, the team were delighted to be trying out the Citation Latitude and found it full of surprising touches. 

Let’s take a look at the specifications:

The Latitude is classed as a mid-sized business jet, designed to have a taller and wider cabin than other aircraft in the Citation range. Capable of flying across Europe (up to seven hours) without having to refuel, the jet was certified in 2015. Its state-of-the-art interior boasts ergonomic seating with high-spec entertainment. It fits eight passengers comfortably in its very luxurious cabin which is 1.83m high, 6.63m long and 1.96m wide. The highest cruising altitude speed is 495 mph.

Along with power outlets for every seat, the aircraft uses leading technology to create an abundance of lighting, exemplary pressurisation and a comfortable cabin temperature. There is also WIFI available onboard.

James said: “The aircraft we flew on was only five years old and you could tell, as the interior was extremely fresh and modern. There was ample space for the seven of us to relax in exceptionally comfortable seats. The attendants were very attentive and the catering was first-class. From take-off to landing, the flight was smooth.I have no hesitation in recommending the Latitude to my clients and have been more so since I experienced it first-hand.”

Each of us were provided with an Ipad with films on, which was a nice touch. What stood out the most for me was how spacious the cabin was.
