6 March 2024: January and February were busy months for Smart’s ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) leasing team. Historically, ACMI operations reduce as the industry goes into winter scheduling programs. Fewer departures during the winter months means airlines have spare capacity within their own network to support their own requirements.

The Smart Team has concluded a number of long term leases and is continuing to offer ACMI solutions to multiple clients. 

Mark Hawkins, Managing Director of Smart Aviation, said” The short term ACMI market has ramped up and we have secured some fantastic deals for clients needing ACMI support in January and February”.

Whilst many of the short term leases have come to an end, Smart has already signed a number of long term leasing contracts for this upcoming summer season. These ACMI agreements, with both new and long term clients, will all commence in April.

Some airlines are still recovering from a number of issues that have impacted their operations – crew shortages and essential aircraft maintenance – meaning our clients are relying on us more than ever before to find the perfect solutions to their ACMI needs”.
