Smart – New Year Message
As we approach 2011, Mark Hawkins, Smart Aviation’s Managing Director reflects on another successful year for the Smart Aviation Team.
“2010 was a significant year in the history of Smart for many reasons.
In October we celebrated our Fifth Anniversary, with an unforgettable party for over 120 of our friends from the Airline industry, a sign of just how far the company has come in its five year history.
During the year we embarked on a period of growth, and saw significant success in all areas of our business.”
Smart Aviation’s Private Jet activity has seen the biggest year-on-year increase, as more and more clients realise that the Smart philosophy can easily be adapted to the Charter of Private Jets.
ACMI activity has continued to go from strength to strength, with the introduction of our 7 day a week office-based coverage, we have seen significant client growth in ACMI, becoming the broker of choice for last minute subservices for some of Europe’s biggest Airlines.
Interestingly, ACMI activity continued throughout the year, right up until Christmas as demand for replacement aircraft in December was unprecedented, with numerous large contracts signed and successfully executed throughout December.
Smart Aviation’s Tour Operations and Sports Team charters have also seen growth this year, and we expect that both areas will continue to enjoy a recovery in 2011, as we remain the preferred choice for several major Tour Operating groups, and major professional Sports teams throughout Europe.
Mark added “What is most pleasing is the way we have been able to adapt the Smart Philosophy of providing successful charters to several new markets. We provide an exceptional service to both clients AND suppliers, and we do all this without the need to charge excessive margins, as we have no shareholders to keep happy, or have the high overhead of international offices and numerous support staff. By remaining small, agile and flexible, we retain the personal touch, whilst also having the expertise and knowledge within our team to ensure we cover every inch of the market in search of the ideal solution for charters.
We are looking forward to 2011 with great anticipation, as we look to build on the success of 2010.”
