Speed is the key for growth in Spare Parts Charters
Across the Aviation Industry, Smart have earned their reputation as one of the leading providers of ‘ACMI’ solutions to airlines across the Globe. With our 24-hour coverage and comprehensive database of available aircraft, our vastly experienced ACMI Duty Managers have had a typically busy start to the Summer arranging numerous last-minute replacement aircraft to keep the Worlds Airlines flying. However we have also seen a growth in related services which also compliment our 24 hour coverage and network of supplier contacts across the globe, and that is in the movement of spare parts for urgent ‘AOG’ situations.
With spare parts typically ‘pooled’ at central locations, airlines often have to move spares to destinations across their network to repair aircraft with technical issues, and for us that means taking a pro-active role in ensuring we keep an up-to-date database of available aircraft suitable for spares movements.
In July 2013 we have carried out spare parts charters using a variety of types, including the Beech King Air turboprop and a Hawker 800 Jet, for smaller parts movements. We have also contracted larger aircraft for more complex cargo, including an ATR42 freighter and a 737-300QC. This type of business has doubled for Smart year-on-year, as we work hard to ensure our client airlines receive a full package of services from us, 24 hours a day.
Whether its a fuse, a wing flap, or a whole engine, Smart can arrange for it to be moved 24 hours a day, at the maximum speed, but cost-effectively, ensuring disruption to flying schedules is minimised.
