Ice Hockey Champs and an F1 Legend

Ice Hockey Champs and an F1 Legend

International Ice Hockey champions and an F1 legend; what’s the connection?

Niki Air, that’s what.

Clive, our group sports travel expert recently arranged flights for the Canadian Ice Hockey Team to fly to the International Hockey Federation’s World Championships (IIHF) in Prague, Czech Republic.  Doing what he does best, he managed every aspect of their flight to ensure it ran smoothly from start to finish so they could concentrate on what they needed to; fighting off the opposition and hitting the puck in the back of the net.

The team and their support staff travelled on a Boeing 737 operated by Austrian airline, Niki Airlines;  a part of Air Berlin and founded by 3 times world champion, Niki Lauda.  After almost 3 weeks of amazing ice hockey, beating the home team in the semi-finals  and an almighty 6-1 win against Russia in the finals Canada were crowned World Champions by the IIHF.

There’s no doubt that Canada were deserved victors and complete masters at their game. Perhaps we played a small part in their journey to becoming champions though by employing the good luck charm of Niki Air.
