Euro 2016 qualifiers

Euro 2016 qualifiers

Our expertise in organising charters for football clubs worldwide meant that we were well placed to deliver charter flights for the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) this month, to get to their national team to the latest round of Euro 2016 qualifying games.

The players, along with senior staff at the AFFA, team staff and management, medical staff, press and supporters were heading to Sicily and Croatia to play their qualifying games. The tour departed from Baku, Azerbaijan, stopping briefly at Frankfurt to pick up more passengers before heading to Palermo, Sicily for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Italy. The very next day they flew onto Osijek, Croatia in preparation for their qualifying game against Croatia, before returning to Baku a day later.

The dedicated aircraft for the tour was an Airbus A319, which comfortably accommodated its 85 passengers. Our sports charter team, headed up by Clive and supported by our 24 hour operations team, were able to oversee every flight over the course of the week. Clive commented “our experience in sports charters for national teams meant that we able to respond quickly and efficiently to the requirements of the AFFA, securing them the most suitable aircraft for their tour, liaising with operators on the ground and carefully watching each charter to make sure every¬†flight was a success.”

Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the outcome of the team’s qualifying games, but remain at their disposal for future team travel around the world for the rest of the season.
